Operation "DYNAMO" - Recommendations of Personnel.
M.S. IMPULSIVE - Lieutenant Commander William Scott Thomas, R.N.

IMPULSIVE made 4 trips during the period 27th - 31st May,
total of about 3,500 troops.
On 28th May, whilst on passage to Dunkirk, ship was
heavily attacked by six Heinkel bombers. Full speed and
frequent alteration of course prevented any hits being scorel,
but further attack by 3 aircraft using machine guns produced
casualties and put "B" gun out of action.
On 31st May, whilst lying off Dunkirk beach, IMPULSIVE
grounded aft on an uncharted wreck, damaging both propellers
and shafts, necessitating passage to Sheerness 1st June for
repairs, in consequence of which she was unable to take
further part in the evacuation.
