During the first trip he undoubtedly saved the
lived of many of the wounded soldiers on board by his
professional attendance. When MOSQUITO was sinking
he remained on board to the last, making certain that
there were no living left board and tending and
supervising the transport of the wounded. During
passage in WORCESTER, when further bombing caused
casualties, he was again much in evidence in his
professional capacity. His conduct was in the best
traditions of the Service, and of his profession.
