H.M.S. DWARF: - Sub. Lieutenant Desmond Astridge O'Hare,M.B.E., R.N.
On Saturday 1st June off Dunkirk, DWARF was attacked by two aircraft which bombed and machine-gunned the ship.
Recommendation.
RATING:
Petty Officer George Albert Coussens, P/J. 7788.
During the attack this man was shot through both knees but remained at his post of duty, refusing to be relieved and later refusing morphine though in considerable pain.
Recommended for decoration.
