A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. Date of Build (column 7). The date of build recorded in the Register for yachts built previous to 1903 under the special survey of the Society's Surveyors, is the date when the yacht was launched. D=the diameter of the power cylinders in inches. S=the stroke of the piston in inches. In the case of the opposed piston type of engines S is half the combined stroke of the pistons. C= 5 for Engines of the 4 S.C.S.A. type. =10 for Engines of the 4 S.C.D.A. type = 9 for Engines of the 2 S.C.S.A. type. =18 for Engines of the 2 S.C.D.A. type.
Nominal Horse Power (column 8). The formulæ from which the Nominal Horse Powers of Steam Reciprocating Engines are calculated are :-	=16 for Engines of the 2 S.C.S.A. opposed piston type. In vessels fitted with Petrol or Paraffin engines :- BHP where BHP is the Brake Horse Power at full power.
1. In cases of yachts in which the particulars of boiler pressures and surfaces are known :- 1000 100 where the boiler pressure is below 160lb.	The R.O.R.C.
