I commend for the good work they did, in taking the tropps from
Harbour to the Transports. The "Gava", and "Edwina" bore the ght of an aerial attack on several large transports and through accurate shooting from the "Gava", no less than four planes were counted for in one attack, together with saving a considerable numfrom the already bombed and sinking transports, while being evily bombed and machine gunned themselves. The "Evelyn Rose"
9operated very well and this flotilla carried out every order to highest traditions of the Fishing Community that can be desired.

British Ships".
I attach a list of ships for your ready reference.
There is no entry in the special Dynamo register concerning the report rendered by the Senior Examination Officer Fleetwood, so we think it failed to arrive. I referred the paper to Naval Officer in Charge Ramsgate who has made enquiries but regrets that no information is available concerning the recommendations for the
Fleetwood Trawlers mentioned. I am sending a copy of this to
Worthington.

"DYNAMO" - RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FLEETWOOD TRAWLERS.
With reference to Admiralty Letter C.W. 1427/41 of 17th
January 1941, be pleased to lay before the Board the accompanying correspondence received from Lieutenant F. Jordan, R.N.R., concerning the services of the Fleetwood Trawlers during the withdrawal from
Dunkirk.
2.-
As I had received no report at the time, nor any information concerning the apparently highly meritorious service of these ships,
I referred the question to Commander A.J. Cubison, D.S.C., R.N. whose name was mentioned in the account given by Lieutenant Jordan.
Commander Cubison's remarks, which draw an entirely contrary picture to that of Lieutenant Jordan, are contained in Enclosure No.2.
3.-
I then referred the whole correspondence to the Flag Officer in Charge, Harwich, whose report is contained in Enclosure No.3.
I desire fully to associate myself with the action taken by the Flag
Officer in Charge, Harwich, in not forwarding Lieutenant Jordan's original report; it is inconceivable that, had Lieutenant Jordan's report been an accurate one, I should not have learnt of the events it portrays either semi-officially or in the course of conversation with the many officers that I have seen subsequent to the operation.
Under the circumstances I do not consider that any personnel from these trawlers can be recommended for decoration or other award.

With reference to your letter of the 7th instant, had enquiries made and find it is correct that Mr.
0 the 31st May, 1940, day following the vessel's e have Huguet was Chief Officer i.e. of the the "Isle of Guernsey" up ast trip in the evacuation from Dunkerque, since when he has been absent from duty owing to sickness.
The name of Mr. Pembry (who was temporarily in our employment and has now left) was apparently submitted by the
Ministry of Shipping without consultation with this Company.
However, as both Messrs. Le Huguet and Pembry rendered good services on the "Isle of Guernsey" during the evacuation, the position might be met by allowing the award of a Mention in Despatches to Mr. Pembry announced in the London
Gazette on the 16th August, 1940, to stand, and granting a similar honour to Mr. Le Huguet.

Dankith evacuation I was serving as Soldequent Zint
Liertenant in HMS Iranhoe. In they letter of proceedings which was submitted 62 the
Commanding Officer the names of various of the offices and ratings were mentioned. My
Captain Showed me the letter before it was finally fowarded and I noticed that my am name was among those mentioned. Later all the officer and mu concerned were officially mentioned in despatches except myself.
